REPORT ON MOCK FIRE DRILL
A Mock Fire Drill was conducted at Bilva Indian School, as a part of the Safety Week on 15 October, 2014. A detailed evacuation plan was drafted before the drill and the teachers were allotted duties with regards to transporting the students, search and rescue, sounding the alarm etc. The exits were marked and as soon as the alarm rang the evacuation process was set in motion. The students were alerted and immediately evacuated by following the exit signs. They were taught to remain calm and walk fast. Once the students were out of the building they were made to assemble in the designated safe area. The teachers in charge took the attendance while the Runners checked the entire building to ensure no child was left behind. The fire drill was completed successfully and well in time. The Principal Mr. Richard Monteiro, addressed the students on how the mock drill was conducted to prepare them and to create awareness among them of the ways to respond swiftly in times of such emergency situations.
