‘Be the change you want to see’, Mahatma Gandhi
A special assembly was held by the primary students to commemorate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The assembly began with a presentation of Gandhi’s memorable quotes by a few students. The students also gave a brief history of Gandhi’s life and achievements. The principles followed by Gandhi such as Truth, Non- violence, Vegetarianism, Bramhacharya and others were highlighted by the students. An exciting quiz was conducted about Gandhi and the winners were awarded a Gandhi cap specially made by their peers. A special feature of this assembly was a number of students dressed as different freedom fighters such as Rani Laxmi Bai, Indira Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru and more. The finale of this beautiful assembly was a coming together of all these students who came forward and chanted Jai Hind celebrating the spirit of nationalism. The Principal Mr Richard Monteiro in his message to the students encouraged them to take inspiration from the great leader and incorporate the principle of non-violence in their lives.
